OBD-II

OBD-II - On-Board Diagnostic System. Press HERE for more information about it.
The aim of this project - was to develop a system for a diagnosics of the fuel injection system of the cars.
The system consists of 2 parts: hardware and software.
The hardware - is a device that supports ISO 9141 and ISO 14230 (also known as KWP2000) protocols. The device is based on a microcontroller ATMEGA8. The ATMEGA acts as a speed converter from OBD-II interface speed 10400 bod to computers RS232 suitable speed 57600 bod. There are 3 status indication LEDs on the device: Power, Alive and Data.

Software "OBD II reader" is written in Visual Basic 6 language. The main features of the software:

• Periodic reading values from all available (or selected) sensors in the fuel injection system
  
• Logging all values to a file
  
• Graphical gauges display of the main parameters of the engine
  
• Charts af the values in the real time as well as values from log files
  
• Readout and explanation of the trouble codes
  
• Clearing trouble codes
